Jonathon Got a Job!!!

So finally after being out of work for nearly a month, Jonathon found a job at NTB! He's just waiting to hear from them to tell him when he starts!!! Now the only challenge is going to be working out our schedules when I go back to work next week! Most likely for a while I'm only going to be working weekends!

Oh, and an update from Madison. She's feeling a lot better then yesterday. She's not as fussy! We think that she was just a little under the weather but today she's much better! She's starting to smile a lot!!! She also saw her first movie last night (the midnight premiere of Eclipse), however she was asleep the entire time!! haha! :D next time -- Toy Story 3!!!

Madsion - 5 weeks old!

So Madison is 5 weeks old today!! We took her to the doctor today because at 1 a.m. this morning, she woke up to eat, ok normal. When we went to put her back down, she screamed. That's kinda normal if she's just too awake, and so i rocked her for a good 30 minutes and she started screaming again. At this point is was about 2:30.

No matter what we did to soothe her, she kept on screaming. She would fall asleep then wake up ten minutes later screaming, and this wasn't a normal cry to be held it was a angry/in pain cry. So finally after 9 hours of straight screaming, I called the Dr. and they said to bring her in.

So we got to the Dr., weighed her. She weighs 9 lbs. 15 ounces now!! Then we went and sat in the room. The Dr. came in looked her over and Madison was just whaling!! She said that babies shouldn't normally become extremely fussy like this all of the sudden. She said that fussiness peaks between 4 to 6 weeks, but it's usually a gradual thing. She said that when she sees babies do this that sometimes it can be a sign of some sort of infection.

So she recommended that we do a urine test for infection, especially since I told her that when i was younger, i got them all the time, and had kidney reflux. So the nurse came in and did a catheter (Maddi didn't like that at all) and then checked her temperature (no fever). The initial test on the urine came back clean, however the Dr said that sometimes the quick test can be normal but the cultures can show different things. So she sent it off for a culture, and we'll hear back in a few days. But for now she said as long as her temperature stays normal and she keeps eating normally that we just have to sit tight and wait for the results!

We are also in the process of doing our birth announcements!! If you would like one please email me your address (JennJenn1734@gmail.com). Next week hopefully we will be taking Madison in for professional pictures for 4th of July! They will be on facebook and myspace! :D

Madison!

Madison is 18 days old!! We took her to her 2 week checkup yesterday and she was 8 lbs. 5 oz.! She had gained 14 oz. since her last checkup 11 days before!! She finally passed her birth-weight of 7 lbs. 9.3 oz.! She was measuring 20 3/4 inches long!! She's getting bigger and bigger by the day! She's not doing so well in the sleeping at night area! She tends to sleep all day and not very well at night. We have been trying to keep her awake, however she has a mind of her own! :D

We are planning on taking her to get her newborn portraits done in the very near future. Once that is done we will then be making the birth announcements and mailing them out!

We are very pleased that Madison is still very healthy and no health concerns!! We hope it stays that way!! She's growing up so fast and we're trying to savor every minute with her! :D
