Settled In!

So we finally moved out of my parents house into an apartment! We absolutely love it! Sadly the day after we signed the lease Jon was laid-off from his job. We'll be fine it will just be rough until he can find another job.

Madison will be 4 months old in 12 days! She's getting so big, so fast! She's learning so much. She's pretty much sitting up supported now, but falls over sometimes. :) She's still having a little trouble getting the rolling over down, however she's so close! We have her "4 month" checkup on October 1st and I will let you know more then but I figured its been a while since the last post I better key everyone in!! :)

Madison is 2 1/2 months old!

Well my sister came down this past weekend, and brought Cody to meet is only cousin! We had a blast with them. We spent Monday in Galveston, or rather in the car most of the day! But we had fun with Madison at her first time at the beach (and actually getting in the water!). We hope that we can see them more often so Cody can grow up with Madison. However we won't be able to make it in September with my parents, we're shooting for either Christmas time or Spring Break!

So an update on Madison!! She's about 13 pounds now!! She's getting big so fast! She's starting to lift her head up more when we do tummy time, which is amazing! :) She's all smiles now!! She's still a pretty fussy baby, but it has impoved a whole lot in the past few weeks! She is still doing really good at sleeping thru the night. We usually put her to bed at 11 and she wakes up any where from 630 to 8 which is nice for us! Her physical therapy is going perfect! We've only needed to take her to 1 appointment. They showed us how to do the exercises at home, and they seem to be helping. We're suppose to do them 2x a day, however it makes her very un happy and we've been doing them about 1x a day. Somedays we skip tho :( Not on purpose just because we forget. But it seems to me that if we do it like we're suppose to that it should be corrected in about 2 weeks! We're still planning on taking her to the neuro surgeon to make sure we don't need further treatment for her head shape! :)

Next week on August 20th we'll finally be moving out! We got at place not too far from my parents house in Kingwood! If you want our new address, message me on facebook (www.facebook.com/jennifermohammed09). In the next week or so, Jonathon is going to be enlisting in the Navy (the Air Force is still an option but the Navy is more then likely going to be the choice). We're so excited to finally be getting out on our own and starting a new chapter in our lives!!

Madison will be 3 months old on August 25th!! I'll update you again soon! :)

Madison - 2 months old!

Miss Madison is 2 months and 1 week old!! We took her to her 2 month check up on Wednesday (7.28.10) and she got all her shots and everything. The Dr. also informed us that she will need to go to physical therapy to correct a problem in her neck. The neck muscle on the left side of her neck either developed wrong or just developed too short. She said that it most likely happened when I was pregnant with her. Because of this she tilts her head to the left almost constantly. She will hold it straight sometimes but will never tilt it to the right. Because of the tilt her head is not only flat on the back (which is kind of normal from babies sleeping on their backs) but it's also flat on the side. This has caused some asymmetry in her face. So to correct that we have to take her to a neuro surgeon. The Dr said that in worst case scenarios that she would have to wear a helmet to re-shape her head. The flatness is pretty minimal, Jon and I can barely tell unless we look really hard. She also said that since we caught it this early that it should be easy to fix! Madison has her first physical therapy appointment on Wednesday, so wish us luck!!

A couple days before her 2 month checkup we had to take her to the Dr for throwing/spitting up more then normal. He said she probably has acid reflux, and so he prescribed her some medicine, and it seems to help. Other then all of that she's healthy as can be. She weighs 12.1 lbs now and is 23 in. tall!! She's growing up so fast already!! She's starting to giggle some and smiling up a storm!!

As you know Jon found a job at NTB (National Tire and Battery), he's doing very well there, working full time. I also went back to work part time and get to spend most of my time home with the baby! :) Jon and I, however, have decided for Jon to join the military. The #1 choice is the Air Force and the #2 choice is the Navy. All he has to do is get back in shape and study hard for the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery). The Air Force is a lot harder to get into then the Navy, but I'm confident that he can do it! We'll keep you updated on the progress he makes to enlisting! :)

Update!!

Madison is now 6 and 1/2 weeks old and is already a little diva. She's a very high maintenance baby, and super spoiled. But oh well, that's what we expected! She's growing so fast! Jonathon and I can't believe that 2 months old is almost here! We celebrated her very first 4th of July this year with Jon's family! We had a blast, and I'm sure she did too, sleeping the whole time! :)

Jonathon found the job at NTB! Although it took them quite a while to call back he finally got the call today to do the paperwork. So, tomorrow he'll find out when he starts. Also, he got a call yesterday from H-E-B for an interview today. It went very well so now instead of him getting one job, he found 2! He's planning on trying to work both because he feels it's important that I be a stay-at-home mom! I would love to be able to stay home with Maddi, however I am returning to work in a couple weeks at least until we know for sure that these jobs are going to work out. If I do end up leaving my job, it will probably only be a temporary thing until Madison gets older and we can put her in day care!

I am trying to set up classes at University of Phoenix as soon as I can. I'm just waiting on my financial aide to get sorted out then I will be starting online courses very soon! I plan on getting my associates degree in nursing, then I can find me a temp nursing job while I work on my bachelors degree, and then eventually one day my masters!! Jon wants to start school soon too however he's being very indecisive as to what he wants to do. (:

Madison goes in for her 2 month checkup here shortly, we'll keep you posted on how that goes! :)

Jonathon Got a Job!!!

So finally after being out of work for nearly a month, Jonathon found a job at NTB! He's just waiting to hear from them to tell him when he starts!!! Now the only challenge is going to be working out our schedules when I go back to work next week! Most likely for a while I'm only going to be working weekends!

Oh, and an update from Madison. She's feeling a lot better then yesterday. She's not as fussy! We think that she was just a little under the weather but today she's much better! She's starting to smile a lot!!! She also saw her first movie last night (the midnight premiere of Eclipse), however she was asleep the entire time!! haha! :D next time -- Toy Story 3!!!

Madsion - 5 weeks old!

So Madison is 5 weeks old today!! We took her to the doctor today because at 1 a.m. this morning, she woke up to eat, ok normal. When we went to put her back down, she screamed. That's kinda normal if she's just too awake, and so i rocked her for a good 30 minutes and she started screaming again. At this point is was about 2:30.

No matter what we did to soothe her, she kept on screaming. She would fall asleep then wake up ten minutes later screaming, and this wasn't a normal cry to be held it was a angry/in pain cry. So finally after 9 hours of straight screaming, I called the Dr. and they said to bring her in.

So we got to the Dr., weighed her. She weighs 9 lbs. 15 ounces now!! Then we went and sat in the room. The Dr. came in looked her over and Madison was just whaling!! She said that babies shouldn't normally become extremely fussy like this all of the sudden. She said that fussiness peaks between 4 to 6 weeks, but it's usually a gradual thing. She said that when she sees babies do this that sometimes it can be a sign of some sort of infection.

So she recommended that we do a urine test for infection, especially since I told her that when i was younger, i got them all the time, and had kidney reflux. So the nurse came in and did a catheter (Maddi didn't like that at all) and then checked her temperature (no fever). The initial test on the urine came back clean, however the Dr said that sometimes the quick test can be normal but the cultures can show different things. So she sent it off for a culture, and we'll hear back in a few days. But for now she said as long as her temperature stays normal and she keeps eating normally that we just have to sit tight and wait for the results!

We are also in the process of doing our birth announcements!! If you would like one please email me your address (JennJenn1734@gmail.com). Next week hopefully we will be taking Madison in for professional pictures for 4th of July! They will be on facebook and myspace! :D

Madison!

Madison is 18 days old!! We took her to her 2 week checkup yesterday and she was 8 lbs. 5 oz.! She had gained 14 oz. since her last checkup 11 days before!! She finally passed her birth-weight of 7 lbs. 9.3 oz.! She was measuring 20 3/4 inches long!! She's getting bigger and bigger by the day! She's not doing so well in the sleeping at night area! She tends to sleep all day and not very well at night. We have been trying to keep her awake, however she has a mind of her own! :D

We are planning on taking her to get her newborn portraits done in the very near future. Once that is done we will then be making the birth announcements and mailing them out!

We are very pleased that Madison is still very healthy and no health concerns!! We hope it stays that way!! She's growing up so fast and we're trying to savor every minute with her! :D
